Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dog Groomer to join our professional grooming salon. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality grooming services to a variety of dog breeds, ensuring each pet is comfortable, safe, and looking their best. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about animal care and grooming to develop their skills in a friendly and supportive environment.

Duties

Bathing, drying, and brushing dogs of all sizes and breeds using appropriate techniques and products
Trimming, clipping, and styling coats according to breed standards or customer preferences
Maintaining a clean and hygienic grooming area, including sterilising tools and equipment
Assessing each dog’s health condition during grooming sessions and reporting any concerns to the manager or pet owners
Handling dogs safely and gently to minimise stress and ensure a positive grooming experience
Managing appointment schedules efficiently and providing excellent customer service to pet owners
Assisting with the selection of suitable grooming products based on individual dog needs

Skills

Prior veterinary experience or background in animal care is highly desirable
Strong understanding of different dog breeds, coat types, and grooming requirements
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners
Physical strength and stamina for heavy lifting when handling larger dogs or equipment
Compassionate demeanour with a genuine love for animals and their wellbeing
Organised with attention to detail to ensure high standards of grooming are maintained consistently
Minimum of 1 year salon experience
