Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dog Groomer to join our professional grooming salon. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality grooming services to a variety of dog breeds, ensuring each pet is comfortable, safe, and looking their best. Duties
- Bathing, drying, and brushing dogs of all sizes and breeds using appropriate techniques and products
- Trimming, clipping, and styling coats according to breed standards or customer preferences
- Maintaining a clean and hygienic grooming area, including sterilising tools and equipment
- Assessing each dog’s health condition during grooming sessions and reporting any concerns to the manager or pet owners
- Handling dogs safely and gently to minimise stress and ensure a positive grooming experience
- Managing appointment schedules efficiently and providing excellent customer service to pet owners
- Assisting with the selection of suitable grooming products based on individual dog needs
Skills
- Prior veterinary experience or background in animal care is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of different dog breeds, coat types, and grooming requirements
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners
- Physical strength and stamina for heavy lifting when handling larger dogs or equipment
- Compassionate demeanour with a genuine love for animals and their wellbeing
- Organised with attention to detail to ensure high standards of grooming are maintained consistently
- Minimum of 1 year salon experience
