We are looking for a Quality Controller to join our team on a permanent contract.
You will play a key role in Food Safety & Quality on site, reporting to the Technical Supervisor. This includes completing product tests and verifying good processes are maintained, raising any Non-Conformances promptly and helping to action/close off.
The key responsibilities required for this role are:
- Conducting Product/Packaging inspections on Raw materials, WIPs/Blends and Finished products. Reviewing results and confirming adherence to specifications and requirements.
- Completing regular process checks, such as Metal Detection checks on Lines.
- Championing CCP Controls on site, ensuring key controls are in place.
- Identification, Communication, Reporting & Actioning of any site Non-conformances.
- Promptly actioning customer requests (for example certifications).
- Assisting the Technical Team with investigations & QMS maintenance as necessary.
- Maintaining well-ordered & accurate data/files for easy retrieval.
- Assisting Environmental Cleaning Schedule by sampling and coordinating either internally (ATP) or externally (with the contracted lab).
- Carry out routine auditing (for example: GMP, & Glass & Brittles audits).
- Any other miscellaneous task as required, communicated by your line manager
Key requirements for this role are:
- Experience in Quality Control
- Food Hygiene Level 2 or above
- Understanding of Product Safety, Microbiology, & Quality in a manufacturing environment (desirable).
- IT Proficient (Microsoft Suite – Word, Excel, Outlook) and able to pick up other programmes after training.
- Experience in Food manufacturing environment (desirable)
- Enthusiastic, with a drive to learn and pick up new skills.
- Understanding of the importance of Food Safety, and confident to communicate any issues / stop production / put product on hold where appropriate (supporting the Technical Supervisor).
- Good attention to detail, with numerical and analytical ability.
- Strong verbal and written communication.
This position has a weekly rotation shift pattern of 7am-3pm and 3pm-11pm
