THE ROLE
This position is for a Maritime Operations Officer (MOO) in the Operations and Intelligence/Risk Department, the post will report to our Lead Maritime Operations Manager. The MOO’s primary responsibilities will be providing proactive routing advice in response to intelligence alerts to ensure the safe and efficient routing of vessels.
RESPONSIBILITIES
↘ Complete voyage risk assessments.
↘ Review, advise and guide on vessel regional Best Management Practices (BMP), including route advice and vessel schedule administration.
↘ Provide incident support and dynamic re-routing as necessary.
↘ Be part of a team that maintains a 24/7 watch, ensuring the safety and security of our client's assets and personnel.
↘ Respond promptly and effectively to any incidents or breaches, escalating as required and taking appropriate action to mitigate risk.
↘ Communicating directly with the Master in the event of an alert and providing relevant security and routing advice, advise an alternative route when appropriate.
↘ Collaborate with the watchkeepers and Guardian operations managers.
↘ Create/fulfil shift handover documentation.
↘ Support response services and projects.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
↘ Officer of the Watch (OOW) Unlimited.
↘ Proficiency in designated security duties.
↘ Must have officer experience, any rank considered.
↘ Navigation Training.
↘ Recent, international seagoing experience.
↘ Knowledge of Maritime risks and Merchant shipping.
↘ The ability to receive and assimilate a variety of information.
↘ The capability to work independently.
↘ Accustomed to working efficiently under pressure in challenging situations.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
↘ Pay: Commensurate with experience
↘ Annual Leave: 25 days per annum plus public holidays
↘ 5 on 3 off shift rotation of 0600-1430, 1400-2230, 2200-0630.
