Advantage Education is working with a number of SEN schools across Bournemouth seeking enthusiastic and committed graduates to join their teams on a full-time basis from September. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals considering careers in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Teaching, Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, or Behaviour Support.
Working within specialist educational settings, you will support children and young people with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language Difficulties, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD).
What We're Looking For
- Graduates with a genuine interest in education and supporting children with additional needs
- Psychology graduates are highly desirable
- Graduates in Education, Child Development, Sociology, Health & Social Care, English, Maths, Science, PE, History, Geography, or related subjects are also encouraged to apply
- Previous experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable individuals is advantageous
- Teaching Assistant, support work, care work, mentoring, coaching, or youth work experience is beneficial
- Strong communication skills and a patient, resilient, and empathetic approach
- A desire to pursue a long-term career within education or child-focused services
The Role
- Supporting pupils with a range of SEN needs both in and outside the classroom
- Working alongside teachers, therapists, and SEN professionals
- Delivering targeted interventions and one-to-one support
- Promoting positive behaviour and engagement in learning
- Helping students develop social, emotional, and academic skills
- Building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
