At CoMind, we are developing a non-invasive neuromonitoring technology that will result in a new era of clinical brain monitoring. In joining us, you will be helping to create cutting-edge technologies that will improve how we diagnose and treat brain disorders, ultimately improving and saving the lives of patients across the world.
The Senior Technical Project Manager at CoMind will lead the delivery of a complex, multi-disciplinary sub-system spanning optics, electronics, mechanical engineering, FPGAs, and software. The role owns end-to-end planning and execution, coordinating internal engineering teams and external development partners to take the sub-system through the full product development lifecycle, from design maturation through to verification and transfer.
This is a senior, hands-on role focused on disciplined technical project delivery in a fast-moving medtech start-up.
The successful candidate will translate technical and programme objectives into a clear, well-structured plan, managing scope, schedule, resources, risk, and cross-discipline dependencies, while maintaining the pace and pragmatism a start-up demands.
CoMind is entering a critical phase of design maturation, verification, and scale-up. This role is central to ensuring the sub-system is delivered on time, to specification, and to the quality and regulatory standards expected of a medical device, without sacrificing momentum or engineering rigour.
At CoMind, all team members work at least 4 days per week in the office, plus a flexible work-from-home day. This role is based in our London (Kings Cross) office.
Owning end-to-end planning and delivery of the sub-system project across optics, electronics, mechanical, FPGA, and software workstreams, from concept through to design verification and transfer
Building and maintaining the integrated project plan, including scope, schedule, milestones, critical path, and cross-discipline dependencies
Leading a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and external development partners, coordinating activities and resolving technical and resourcing conflicts to keep delivery on track
Establishing and running effective project governance, including regular reporting, steering reviews, and clear, accurate status communication to senior stakeholders
Owning the RAID log (risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies), proactively identifying and mitigating risks before they affect schedule, cost, or quality
Managing resourcing and capacity across disciplines, forecasting demand and working with functional leads to ensure the right skills are available at the right time
Driving the project through the formal product development lifecycle, ensuring design control, verification and validation, and stage-gate requirements are met
Managing external partners and suppliers, including statements of work, deliverables, and the technical and commercial commitments that underpin the project
Tracking budget, effort, and cost against plan, and providing accurate forecasts to support decision-making
Ensuring project documentation and deliverables meet the quality and traceability standards required for a regulated medical device (e.g. ISO 13485, IEC 62304, ISO 14971)
AI is fundamental to our culture — it's not just a tool, but a core part of how we work, collaborate, and innovate. We expect all team members to embrace AI in their daily work and continuously find new ways to use it effectively.
Proven track record managing complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects through the full product development lifecycle
Demonstrated experience leading and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams spanning optics, electronics, mechanical, FPGA, and software, alongside external development partners
Strong command of formal project management processes, including planning, scheduling, critical-path management, reporting, RAID, resourcing, and budget control
Experience delivering products that integrate hardware, embedded/FPGA, and software, with a sound understanding of the interfaces and integration challenges involved
Comfortable operating in a fast-paced start-up or scale-up environment, balancing process rigour with pragmatism and pace
Strong technical fluency, with the ability to engage credibly with engineers across disciplines and challenge constructively when required
Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with a track record of clear, accurate reporting to senior leadership
Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with a track record of driving delivery without creating unnecessary bureaucracy
Experience working within or alongside regulated environments (e.g. medical devices, ISO 13485, IEC 60601, IEC 62304, ISO 14971, design controls) is highly desirable, as is a recognised project management qualification (e.g. APM, PMP, PRINCE2)
