Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join our finance team. This is a hands-on role with a broad range of responsibilities, offering the opportunity to make a real impact. The role is responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, maintaining the integrity of financial systems, and providing financial insight to support commercial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts.
Review, reconcile, and manage financial system postings to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
Prepare and monitor cash flow forecasts.
Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and monitoring performance against budget.
Analyse financial results, investigate variances, and provide commentary to management.
Prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring compliance with HMRC requirements.
Provide support for external audits, including preparing schedules and responding to audit queries.
Support year-end close processes.
Work closely with colleagues across the business to improve financial controls and reporting processes.
As part of a small finance team, provide flexible support across the finance function and assist with ad hoc tasks as required.

Skills & Experience

Part-qualified or qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent).
Experience in a management accounting role, preferably within a retail environment.
Strong Excel and financial systems skills.
Good knowledge of VAT and financial reporting.
A hands-on, flexible approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.

Pay: £35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
