Chapel Lane Surgery (occasional cover at The Hollies Family Surgery)
Full-time (37.5 hours, 9:00am–5:00pm)
Part-time applicants welcome (job share considered)

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and organised Prescription Administrator to join our friendly and supportive GP practice team. This is a key role supporting our clinical staff and ensuring patients receive a safe, efficient, and high-quality prescriptions service.

This is a fast-paced and rewarding environment, ideal for someone who thrives under pressure and has strong attention to detail.

Previous experience in General Practice or medications is desirable but not essential—full training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

Processing repeat prescriptions accurately and efficiently
Handling enquiries via telephone and email
Liaising with GPs, pharmacies, and healthcare professionals
Updating patient records using clinical systems
Managing prescription queries and medication changes
Communicating GP comments on test results
Chasing hospital letters relating to medication updates
Supporting Pharmacy Technicians and Clinical Pharmacists
Promoting online services and repeat dispensing
Prioritising workload in a busy environment

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

✔ Highly organised with strong attention to detail
✔ Confident using IT systems (including Outlook, Word, Excel)
✔ Friendly, professional, and patient-focused
✔ Able to work independently and as part of a team
✔ An excellent communicator with strong customer service skills
✔ Understanding of confidentiality and data protection
