Overview
We are seeking a vigilant and dependable Security Officer to maintain a safe and secure environment across our premises. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring store access, preventing loss, and providing a strong visual presence while delivering excellent customer service. This role requires a high level of professionalism, communication, and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular surveillance using CCTV systems and other monitoring equipment to oversee all areas of the premises.
- Monitor entry and exit to the store, ensuring all activity is controlled and observed.
- Maintain a visible presence at the store frontage to deter theft and anti-social behaviour.
- Patrol designated areas on foot or via vehicle to deter unauthorised access and identify potential security risks.
- Monitor access points, verify credentials, and manage visitor logs to control entry and exit.
- Implement loss prevention strategies by observing suspicious behaviour and responding appropriately.
- Respond promptly to security incidents, alarms, or emergencies, including administering first aid if necessary.
- Maintain detailed incident reports and communicate effectively with law enforcement or emergency services when required.
- Enforce company policies and procedures related to security protocols.
- Assist with organising safety drills and training sessions for staff members.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in security or surveillance roles is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
- First aid certification is desirable to respond effectively during emergencies.
- Excellent observational skills with keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle difficult situations professionally.
- Valid security licence or certification as required by local regulations is preferred.
