PAY: £14.50 (starting rate, to be reviewed at 6 months)
HOURS: 37.5pw (Full time)

PURPOSE
We are looking for a creative, proactive, and highly organised Communications & PR Officer to help tell the story of The CHAOS Group. This is a varied and fast-paced role, working across all areas of the organisation to showcase our impact both internally and externally. You’ll play a key part in connecting teams, amplifying voices, and ensuring our work reaches the communities and stakeholders who need to hear it most.
This role is primarily based at Camills Studio, in Veryan on The Roseland with the expectation to commute between sites as well as working on location. The right candidate should hold a full driving license and access to their own vehicle. Remote and homeworking is not suitable for this role.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITES
Internal Communications
- Help strengthen internal communication across the CHAOS family of services
- Create engaging internal updates, newsletters, and staff communications
- Support team connection by highlighting work happening across different services
- Ensure consistent messaging, tone of voice, and brand identity
Public Relations & Media
- Write and distribute press releases to local, regional, and sector media
- Build and maintain relationships with journalists, partners, and stakeholders
- Identify PR opportunities to showcase CHAOS services, achievements, and impact
- Support media enquiries and coordinate interviews, features, and coverage
Content & Social Media
- Plan, create and deliver engaging social media content across multiple platforms
- Capture stories from across the organisation, including photo, video, and written
- Monitor performance and optimise content based on insights and analytics
Campaigns & Storytelling
- Contribute & deliver communication campaigns aligned with priorities
- Identify powerful human-interest stories and impact narratives
- Support fundraising, recruitment, and awareness campaigns
Collaboration
- Work closely with service leads and teams across the organisation to gather content
- Support events and community activities with communications and promotion
- Act as a key link between services to help unify the organisation’s voice
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS
ESSENTIAL
- Experience in communications, PR and marketing
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong content creation skills (copywriting, photography)
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- A proactive, can-do attitude with strong organisational skills
- Confidence in building relationships across teams and stakeholders
- Passion for community work and social impact
DESIRABLE
- Experience working in a charity, social enterprise, or community organisation
- Knowledge of media relations and PR processes
- Familiarity with design tools (e.g. Adobe, Canva etc…)
- Experience using analytics tools and interpreting performance data
- Basic understanding of brand management
