Overview

SRM Industries is a leading manufacturer of high‑quality rubber mouldings, supplying a wide range of prestigious clients across the UK and internationally. We are expanding our Injection Moulding team and are looking for reliable, hands‑on Production Operatives who want long‑term stability, training, and career progression.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, likes being part of a busy production environment, and takes pride in producing accurate, high‑quality components.

What the Job Involves

This section helps candidates understand the actual work:

Operating rubber injection moulding machines (full training provided)
Loading raw materials into machines and safely removing finished parts
Inspecting products for defects and ensuring they meet quality standards
Recording production data and following job sheets
Working at a steady pace to meet production targets
Keeping your workstation clean, organised, and safe
Reporting any machine issues or safety concerns immediately
Working closely with your team leader and colleagues to maintain workflow

This is a hands‑on, physical role that involves standing for long periods, repetitive tasks, and working in a warm production environment.

Required Skills & Qualities

Attention to detail – spotting defects and maintaining accuracy
Reliability – excellent timekeeping and attendance
Fast‑paced working – staying focused and organised
Positive attitude – willingness to learn and follow instructions
Teamwork – supporting colleagues and communicating clearly
Basic numeracy and reading skills – following job sheets and measurements

Previous machine or factory experience is helpful but not essential.

Training & Development

We provide full on‑the‑job training, including:

Machine operation
Quality checking
Safety procedures
Production workflow

Our structured training programme gives you a wide skill set and a clear path for progression, including opportunities to increase your pay as you develop.

Working Hours

40 hours per week on a rotating two‑shift pattern:

6:00am – 2:00pm
2:00pm – 10:00pm

Monday to Friday at our Hatton, Derbyshire site.

You must be able to commit to both shifts.

Pay & Benefits

Starting rate: £13.17 per hour
Increased to £13.80 per hour after successful probation
