About the Role
As a Junior Accounts Technician, you will receive hands-on training and support to develop your finance skills and gain practical experience in a busy accounts department. You will learn a variety of daily, weekly, and monthly finance tasks, including purchase ledger management, processing bank receipts, communicating with suppliers and various other financial office duties. This role is designed to provide a structured learning path, equipping you with the knowledge and confidence to build a strong foundation in finance.
With training and guidance, you will:

Process bank receipts and learn how to reconcile them against customer remittance advice

Input non-job-related purchase invoices with increasing accuracy and efficiency

Download and post daily bank statements, ensuring correct recording of direct debits and standing orders

Transfer and reconcile purchase ledger data, developing an understanding of financial accuracy and reporting

Resolve purchase ledger queries by working closely with suppliers and bodyshop locations

Issue cheques under supervision, following authorisation by the Head of Finance

Manage and reconcile petty cash transactions, gaining confidence in handling financial records

Communicate with suppliers via phone and email, improving your professional interaction skills

Provide general administrative support within the accounts office, contributing to the smooth running of the department

What We Look For
