Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Diamond Driller to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating specialised drilling equipment to extract diamonds efficiently and safely. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, experience with commercial driving, and familiarity with excavator operation. The ideal applicant will be organised, safety-conscious, and capable of working in challenging environments to contribute to the success of our mining operations.

Duties

Operate diamond drilling machinery with precision and adherence to safety protocols
Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of drilling equipment to ensure optimal performance
Assist with the setup and dismantling of drilling sites, including positioning excavators and other machinery
Monitor drilling progress, adjusting techniques as necessary to meet project specifications
Maintain detailed records of drilling activities, including depth, samples collected, and equipment used
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and safety standards are upheld
Follow all health and safety regulations to minimise risks during operations

Requirements

Proven experience in mechanical systems and equipment operation within a mining or construction environment
Valid commercial driving licence with a clean driving record
Experience operating excavators or similar heavy machinery is highly desirable
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and equipment maintenance
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and in remote locations
Good physical fitness, capable of handling physically demanding tasks
Willingness to undergo training related to specialised drilling techniques and safety procedures
