Full job description

The ideal candidate will be working strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols. The HCA will support the practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of quality health and care services.

The post is for a part time position, working up to 4 days a week and there will be a late shift 11.30 – 20.00 each week on a set day, to be discussed further at interview.

This post is for a HCA working in Primary care – not a nursing home or hospital environment, requiring a very different skill set. Please read the job description to ensure that you have the correct skill level for the post.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate must be able to display a basic level of computer literacy including the ability to use emails. Be accurate and contemporaneous record keeping of all patient contact using appropriate templates and read coding, including recording QOF data. NVQ level 2 in health & social care is an essential qualification for the posts.

The Avenue Surgery is a large training practice, providing all aspects of primary care to circa 18,500 patients, in the rural market town of Warminster, Wiltshire.

Our mission is to provide outstanding primary care for our patients, offering a service that works with, and for, the community to meet the widest range of care, health promotion and education for our staff and our patients.

7 GP Partners & 4 salaried GPs

ST2 & ST3 GP Trainees

Large reception & administration team, including clinical pharmacist team.

Nursing team, including specialist nurses, living well team, and an emergency care team.

We are a high achieving QOF practice and are committed to providing high quality, evidence-based care to all.
