Job Summary
This is a full‑time, Late Shift (6pm - 4am) on‑site position at Micro Precision, part of the Regal Rexnord Group, based in Hemel Hempstead. You will join a highly skilled and collaborative team dedicated to producing high‑precision aerospace components. The role involves small to medium batch production with medium to high complexity, requiring a strong focus on accuracy and repeatability.
Your primary responsibility will be to set and operate CNC Turning machines, ensuring all machining processes are optimised for precision, efficiency, and consistent quality. You will work to tight aerospace tolerances, support continuous improvement, and contribute to maintaining the high standards expected within an advanced manufacturing environment.
Duties
- Set up, operate, and oversee CNC turning machines using Fanuc controls
- Prepare and organise tooling, fixtures, and materials to support efficient production
- Monitor machining processes, making precise adjustments to maintain optimal performance and quality
- Conduct in-process inspections to ensure compliance with tight aerospace tolerances
- Accurately interpret and work from detailed engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Adhere to all health & safety regulations and maintain a clean, organised working environment
- Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve consistent, high-quality output
- Support routine machine maintenance and ensure equipment is properly cared for
Experience
- Proven, hands-on experience in CNC turning, ideally within aerospace or other high-precision manufacturing environments
- Strong proficiency in setting and operating CNC machines with Fanuc control systems
- Ability to accurately read and interpret complex engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Solid understanding of tooling, machining techniques, and industry best practices
- Demonstrated troubleshooting ability with a proactive, problem-solving approach
- Experience machining a range of high-performance materials, including Stainless Steel, Titanium, Inconel, Aluminium, and engineering plastics such as Nylon
- Strong commitment to quality, with a focus on achieving high levels of accuracy and consistency
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Apprenticeship trained or time-served, or qualified through relevant industry experience
- CAD/CAM knowledge is advantageous, but not essential
Pay: £19.00-£22.50 per hour
