Finance Administration Officer

37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, based in Preston

£28,497 per annum

We are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Finance Administration Officer to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is motivated and enjoys combining strong administrative and financial skills to make a real impact. In this role you will play a key role in supporting the efficient operation of our finance function. Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, you will be responsible for a range of financial and administrative tasks, ensuring accurate record-keeping, timely processing of transactions, and compliance with internal procedures. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality support in a fast-paced environment.

What you'll be doing

Deliver a high standard of customer service to both internal and external customers, ensuring enquiries are handled professionally and efficiently.
Process Accounts Payable invoices, including inputting and updating invoice records, reconciling supplier statements, and resolving invoice queries.
Raise Accounts Receivable invoices and credit notes, responding to associated enquiries in a timely manner.
Assist with cash receipt processing and administer petty cash payments and undertake regular petty cash and daily cash reconciliations.
Support the Finance Administration Manager with Right to Buy (RTB), Right to Acquire (RTA), and insurance claim administration.

What we are looking for:

Good knowledge of finance processes accounts payable and receivable.
Good knowledge of MS office packages.
Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise work appropriately.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with high levels of attention to detail and accuracy.

It would be great if you also had:

Experience of working with finance systems.
Good knowledge of Right to Buy and Acquire process.
Part AAT qualified.
Experience of working within social housing.
