Full job description

GS Facilities Management Ltd is looking for a reliable and hardworking Recycling Operative to support our waste and recycling operations across customer sites.

This role would suit someone looking to supplement their current income, including:

Recently retired individuals
Someone with another part-time role
Self-employed workers looking for additional days

Work is expected to be around 4 full days per month (sometimes more or less depending on business needs), with the potential to develop into a permanent role in the future.

About the Role

This is a varied, hands-on position working both independently and as part of a small team. The role will mainly involve sorting waste and recycling materials, always working with the waste hierarchy in mind — prioritising reuse, recycling, and recovery before disposal wherever possible.

You may also be required to:

Drive a Luton van between customer sites
Assist with collections and recycling projects
Carry out manual handling and lifting tasks
Maintain clean and safe working areas
Deliver excellent customer service while representing GS Facilities Management Ltd professionally

What We’re Looking For

Reliable and self-motivated
Customer-focused with a positive attitude
Comfortable working independently and outdoors at times
Physically fit and comfortable with manual lifting
Mechanically minded
Full UK driving licence required
Experience in recycling, waste, warehouse, or labouring roles beneficial but not essential
Flexible approach to work and availability
