Full job description

Watermill Coaches is one of the largest independent coach operators in North East Scotland, operating a modern fleet of buses and coaches from our purpose-built workshop in Ellon.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for a motivated and reliable Workshop Assistant / Trainee Technician to join our busy workshop team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with vehicles, wants to learn new skills and is looking for a long-term career within the commercial vehicle industry.

What You'll Be Doing

Working alongside our experienced technicians, your duties will include:

Assisting HGV technicians with vehicle servicing and repairs.
Carrying out vehicle cleaning and preparation.
Performing basic maintenance tasks such as changing bulbs, wiper blades and batteries.
Assisting with tyre inspections.
Collecting vehicle parts and workshop supplies.
Keeping the workshop clean, tidy and organised.
Learning how to inspect, service and repair buses and coaches.
Supporting the team with day-to-day workshop operations.

Full training will be provided, with the opportunity to progress onto a recognised Technician apprenticeship for the right candidate.

What We're Looking For

A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Good timekeeping and reliability.
An interest in mechanics or vehicle maintenance.
Ability to work as part of a team.
A full UK driving licence is preferred (or close to obtaining one) due to our rural location.
Previous workshop experience is beneficial but not essential.
