Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking enthusiastic and skilled Children Hairdresser or Barber to join our vibrant salon team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, providing fun and friendly hair styling experiences, and delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves creating adorable and age-appropriate hairstyles, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and building lasting relationships with clients and their families. Must have 2 years experience as a qualified hairdresser or barber.

Responsibilities

Provide professional haircuts, styling, and grooming services tailored to children's needs
- Maintain a high level of customer service, always having a friendly approachable manner to all customers at all times.
Be confident with working with a wide range of children with different needs.
Operate salon software such as Timely for scheduling, sales, and client management.-Managing bookings, rescheduling and contacts customers when needed. - Taking payments and bookings using the online till system or card payments in shop.
Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness throughout the salon environment.
Engage with clients using excellent communication skills to ensure a positive experience
Upsell retail products such as hair care items, snacks , or themed accessories to enhance client experience.
- Receiving deliveries and signing them in according to company procedures
Communicating with Manager if stock is low.
Willing to be part of social media posts and information.
Keeping the shop window presentable and generic merchandising
Opening and closing shop according to company procedures
Daily cashing up at the end of the shift and filling in necessary paperwork related to it
Following guidelines and rules as per to Company Handbook and Health & Safety document

- Taking part on company events such as fairs etc as requested from time to time

-Liaise and be point of contact at times for external events and pop ups.

Skills

Proficiency in hair styling techniques suitable for children as well as advanced skills like hair plaiting and barbering.
At least 2 years experience in a salon setting as a qualified hairdresser or barber preferably with children
Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with children and parents alike.
Sense of humour is a must
Confident working with children with different needs .

This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fun and rewarding busy children's salon. We have been open 14 months and have scope for another hairdresser. We have just been nominated for Hair Salon of the year.

We are very flexible on hours and working days.
