Finance Assistant

Location: Altrincham, Manchester (Hybrid)

Permanent, Full Time

Omni is recruiting for a Finance Assistant to support the smooth running of the finance function. This position offers the chance to be part of a collaborative finance team, helping to keep financial processes running smoothly while building strong relationships across the organisation. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate records, supporting month end activity, and contributing to clear, reliable financial information.

About the role

As a Finance Assistant, you will support the day-to-day operation of the finance function, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and on time. You will work closely with the Finance Manager and wider teams, gaining exposure to core finance activities while developing your skills in a supportive, learning-focused environment.

Key responsibilities

Maintain accurate sales ledger records across multiple service lines
Support credit control activities to help ensure timely client payments
Update financial systems with invoices, receipts and remittances
Prepare client reports and cash information on a weekly and monthly basis
Complete bank reconciliations and support cash reporting
Assist with month end tasks and balance sheet reconciliations
Maintain clear audit trails and supporting documentation
Share updates and insights with the Finance Manager
Support the wider finance team with daily tasks and cover
Keep process notes accurate and up to date

Essential skills and requirements

Good understanding of core accounting processes
Confidence working with numbers and financial data
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Clear and professional communication style
Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
Comfortable working with finance systems and spreadsheets
Collaborative approach when working with others
Willingness to learn and develop within the role
