Full job description

We are looking for a friendly, organised, and professional Optical and Hearing Care Assistant to join our team. This is a front-facing role where you will be the first point of contact for our patients, so delivering excellent customer service is essential.

This is a full-time position, working 5 days, Monday - Saturday with a day off in the week.

Key Responsibilities

Welcoming patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
Managing appointment bookings and diary scheduling
Answering telephone and email enquiries
Handling patient records accurately and confidentially
Processing payments and supporting general administrative tasks
Supporting the clinical team to ensure smooth day-to-day running of the practice

Essential Requirements

Previous experience in a customer-facing role is essential
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organisational and time management abilities
Confident using computers and practice systems
Ability to work well in a busy environment

Desirable (but not essential)

Previous experience in an optical or healthcare setting
Knowledge of optical products or NHS processes
