IT Support Technician

Job Title: IT Support Technician Department: Finance Location: Doncaster Salary: £30,000 per year Working Hours: 37 hours per week (office-based) Travel: Occasional travel to Sandy depot as required

Overview: Our client is seeking a reliable and self-motivated IT Support Technician to support the day-to-day IT operations across the UK business. You will provide hands-on technical support to users, maintain IT infrastructure, liaise with third-party providers, and ensure secure, smooth IT services for the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Act as the primary point of contact for all IT support issues across the UK business.
Work closely with Group IT to ensure alignment with group policies and procedures.
Provide first and second line support for hardware, software, network, and user-related issues.
Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot laptops, tablets, printers, and mobile devices.
Support onboarding and offboarding processes for employees (equipment setup and access management).
Support Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Office apps).
Manage user accounts and permissions.
Monitor and maintain IT equipment, software licensing, backups, and cybersecurity controls.
Maintain accurate IT asset registers, system documentation, and support records.
Assist with system upgrades, infrastructure improvements, and IT projects.
Ensure compliance with company IT policies, GDPR and security best practices.
Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and overall IT efficiency.

Skills & Experience

Proven experience in an IT support role.
Ability to work independently in a standalone role.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows environments and Microsoft 365.
Understanding of IT security, backups, and business continuity.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Organised, proactive, and able to prioritise workload effectively.

Desirable Skills

Experience in manufacturing, engineering, or multi-site environments.
Knowledge of ERP/business systems support (Microsoft Dynamics NAV/Navision).
Experience in Construction/Manufacturing/Civil Engineering or Services industries.

Other Requirements

Full UK Driving Licence.
