Overview
An exciting opportunity has come up to join one of a leading group of Food Testing Laboratories! We are looking for highly motivated individuals to join us at the Kent Science Park in Sittingbourne, Kent. You will be the first point of contact for our clients as well as working as part of a busy lab team. A friendly enthusiastic and professional attitude is essential.
Your responsibilities will include:
· Administrative tasks using a variety of databases and system
· Answering the phone, taking messages and responding to email
· Supporting other team members/departments with day-to-day office duties
· Updating and maintaining databases and filing systems.
· Some housekeeping duties
· Technician duties to cover sample registration using a bespoke LIMS system
Skills/Qualifications required:
· Good standard of education; a minimum of GCSE level in a science subject would be preferable, but not essential.
· Accuracy and attention to detail are essential, as well as the ability to rigidly follow documented methods and maintain records.
· Ability to work as part of a small team to meet tight deadlines and to comply with high quality standards.
· Good communication skills including written and verbal communication
· Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
· Some experience dealing with customer would be advantageous but not essential
· Highly organised
· Works with a proactive, “can-do” attitude and is keen to learn
· Adaptability and comfortable working in a face paced environment
We are looking for someone to work full time Sunday to Friday. We work on a 2 week rota system of Monday to Friday on week one and Sunday – Thursday on week two. In addition some holiday cover may be required.
