Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and organised Post Office Manager to oversee daily operations within our postal facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring efficient service delivery, and maintaining excellent customer relations. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in administrative tasks to ensure the smooth running of the office. The Post Office Manager will play a vital role in maintaining operational standards and fostering a positive working environment.

Duties

Supervise and coordinate the activities of postal staff to ensure timely processing of mail and parcels.
Manage administrative functions including record keeping, reporting, and utilisation of software such as QuickBooks.
Oversee human resources responsibilities, including staff scheduling, training, and performance management.
Handle customer enquiries via phone and in person with professional communication and excellent phone etiquette.
Maintain organisational standards by implementing efficient office procedures and ensuring compliance with postal regulations.
Manage stock levels of postal supplies and organise logistics for incoming and outgoing mail.
Assist with financial tasks such as budgeting, invoicing, and cash handling where applicable.
Foster a team-oriented environment through effective team management and supervision.

Requirements

Proven experience in office administration, clerical work or related fields within a postal or retail environment.
Demonstrable supervisory experience with strong team management skills.
Proficiency in QuickBooks and general office software; familiarity with human resources procedures is desirable.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with professional phone etiquette.
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
Previous experience in managing office operations or administrative functions is preferred.
