MBS as a Company are looking for dynamic, Full time enthusiastic and experienced Grounds Maintenance Team Leaders (Drivers) to join our fast-paced team, carrying out commercial Landscaped Grounds Maintenance on individual large static sites and other managed developments, primarily in Kent.
The right candidate will be supplied with their own van and equipment based at our main depot near Maidstone. You will supply our clients with a high-quality service and be able to adapt to needs that arise on site. There is room for progression with fully paid training and courses and career growth with a 35-year established regional Grounds Maintenance company.
Requirements of Grounds Maintenance Team Leader
- Job roles available: Junior Team Leader (driver), Team Leader (driver) and Senior Team Leader (Driver).
- Experience in this industry, (entry level minimum 2 years) either in horticulture/gardening or grounds/landscape maintenance with a good knowledge of time management and able to demonstrate your experience in this industry preferable, with tickets but training will be given. Provide checkable references when required.
- Candidates for senior level roles will demonstrate strong experience, have relevant tickets and qualifications for the role and a vast skill base.
- You will need to be able to get to our depot near Maidstone for early morning starts ready for traveling to sites. We are not on a public transport route.
- You must be a well-organised individual, able to communicate well with your work colleagues, as you will have a portfolio of sites to maintain to a high standard.
- Annualised hours: approximately 45-48 hours per week in peak summer period and approximately 33-36 hours per week in the winter period (equivalent of a 4-day week or shorter working days in the winter (subject to operational requirements and fair rota arrangements)).
- Qualifications in horticulture would be an asset, e.g. Hort/RHS diploma, PA1 & PA6 spray certificates, and machinery tickets. Please state if you have these when applying.

Responsibilities
- Able to organise yours and others' workload efficiently and to a high standard. Communicating well with your colleagues and contract managers to achieve your portfolio of work.
- Be self-motivated and able to work under your own initiative.
- Able to understand and use cloud-based systems for reporting and job analysis.
- Able to understand the importance of client/customer satisfaction and able to converse responsibly when requested. In today's climate understanding these needs is paramount.
- Good working knowledge of horticultural industry machinery and be familiar with powered equipment, and able to use ride on mowers, or at least be familiar in the use of. Full training will be given to the successful applicant.
Skills
- Proficient in the use of power tools and hand tools for various maintenance tasks.
- Experience in landscape maintenance, including gardening, and groundskeeping techniques.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in all tasks undertaken.
- Good communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and external contractors.
Details of the Role
- Salary starting at £27,846.00 for Junior Team Leader roles and increasing with experience and demonstrated skills
- Salary is negotiated at/after interview, based on demonstrated experience, qualifications, and demonstration of industry knowledge.
- 27 days holiday including Bank holidays, on a pro rata basis per year (equivalent of a 4-day week or shorter working days in the winter (subject to operational requirements and fair rota arrangements)).
- Job Type: Full-time (weekdays) - with reduced hours over the winter period
- Weekend work optional when available
- Overtime when available
- Buddy system when training
