Job Introduction

As a Security Supervisor, you’ll play a pivotal role in the smooth running of the security operation. You’ll lead, support, and motivate your team while remaining hands-on in delivering exceptional service.

What you’ll do:

Leading and supervising the security team, including rotas, briefings, holidays, and performance support

Ensuring delivery of a customer-focused security service across campus

Acting as a visible point of leadership for staff, students, visitors, and contractors

Conducting patrols, CCTV monitoring, and access control to maintain site security
-
Managing incident response, escalation, and ensuring high-quality reporting

Supporting and delivering training and development for team members
-
Driving Health & Safety compliance and continuous improvement initiatives
-
Overseeing key control systems and ensuring all security equipment is fully operational

Building strong relationships with Sodexo colleagues and client stakeholders
-
Promoting a positive team culture, encouraging collaboration, accountability, and high standards
What you bring:
Essential:
-
Valid SIA Licence
-
3–5 years’ experience within a security environment
-
Proven team leadership or supervisory experience
-
Strong knowledge of CCTV systems, alarms, and security operations
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-
Ability to manage incidents calmly and effectively
-
Strong attention to detail and report-writing skills
-
IT literacy and understanding of data protection
-
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Desirable:
-
CCTV Licence
-
First Aid and/or Fire Warden certification
-
Knowledge of BS7858:2013 standards
