Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and organised Activity Coordinator to enrich the lives of residents in our assisted living and care home facilities. The successful candidate will plan, coordinate, and facilitate engaging activities tailored to the needs of seniors, including those with dementia and Alzheimer's. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a diverse programme of activities that promote social interaction, mental stimulation, and physical well-being for residents.
- Organise group activities such as arts and crafts, music sessions, games, and outings, ensuring they are suitable for residents with varying levels of mobility and cognitive function.
- Foster a warm, inclusive environment that encourages participation from all residents, respecting individual preferences and abilities.
- Collaborate with care staff to assess residents’ interests and needs, adapting activities accordingly.
- Maintain accurate records of participation and resident feedback to continually improve activity offerings.
- Ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations and are conducted in a safe manner.
- Assist in creating a vibrant community atmosphere that supports residents’ emotional health and social connections.
Skills
- Experience working within assisted living or nursing home environments is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of senior care practices, including dementia and Alzheimer’s care, is essential.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with residents, families, and care team members.
- Empathy, patience, and the ability to motivate older adults to participate in activities.
- Organised with excellent planning skills to manage multiple programmes simultaneously.
- Creativity in designing engaging activities that cater to diverse interests and abilities.
