The Role
We're looking for a skilled and reliable Vehicle Technician / Mechanic to join our team. You'll work on a wide range of vehicles — from cars and vans to trucks and agricultural/plant machinery — carrying out diagnostics, mechanical work, and supporting our ECU remapping and emissions services. Some mobile work at customer locations may be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out full diagnostic scans and interpret fault codes across a range of vehicle makes and models
- Perform mechanical inspections, repairs, and servicing on cars, vans, and sometimes trucks, and plant machinery
- Support DPF cleaning, EGR delete, AdBlue delete, and speed limiter removal services
- Have basic IT Computer skills and can assist with connecting to some engine ecus "Not Essential" but useful.
- Conduct pre- and post-work diagnostic checks and road tests to verify work quality
- Travel to customer locations to carry out mobile jobs when required
- Maintain accurate job records, diagnostic reports, and customer documentation
- Keep the workshop, tools, and equipment clean, organised, and well maintained
- Follow all health & safety procedures at all times
- Deliver excellent customer service and represent the Remap Centre brand professionally
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a vehicle mechanic/technician (cars, vans, trucks, or plant)
- Strong diagnostic skills and confidence using OBD/diagnostic equipment
- Knowledge of engine management systems, emissions systems (DPF, EGR, AdBlue), and general mechanical repair
- A full, valid UK driving licence (essential for mobile work)
- HGV/LGV licence or plant experience is a bonus but not essential
- Good attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving
- Strong communication skills and a professional, customer-focused attitude
- Ability to work independently and manage your own time on mobile jobs
