Job Description

To assist the team to effectively manage the AGS Airport’s internal and external relationships and communications with all stakeholders. This includes politicians, airlines, retailers, passengers and staff.

The role holder will be a strong team player, with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and can demonstrate initiative and creativity. Diplomatic and discrete in approach, they will be able to manage a diverse and demanding workload and work to deadlines.

This individual will work alongside the management team to enhance the reputation of the airports to ensure key messages are delivered using our various promotional channels and external PR channels.

The role holder will also support day to day public relations activities helping to shape and protect AGS’ corporate image. The role holder will also be responsible for creating and delivering compelling content that hits the mark and strengthens AGS’s brand, working closely with key stakeholders to ensure that communication is clear, consistent, and aligned to AGS’s goals and values
Principle accountabilities

Help support and execute the public relations strategy for AGS, including key messaging, communication channels and tactics.

Draft and design various types of PR content (newsletter, media announcements; speeches etc).

Edit and proofread press releases, videos, and presentations.
-
Examine and document media coverage and track relevant PR metrics.

Maintain contact databases and mailing lists with updates.

Create project specific media lists to support PR Manager,
-
Responsible for the press clip archive and scanning of materials for reports.

Manage calendar content for events; activities, press etc, ensuring content is timely and relevant.

Participate and provide innovative ideas during brainstorming and planning sessions.

Help organise and execute various PR events and campaigns.

Respond to media enquiries

Building relationships with journalists

Supporting reactive media handling
-
Draft and distribute content such as newsletters and releases.

Conduct research to support the Public Relations planning process.

Undertake General admin duties.

Support with crisis and compliance communications, ensuring information provided supports the business strategy, including drafting statements and working as part of crisis comms rota

As a member of the team support innovation, contribute ideas and maintain messaging consistency.
Qualifications and experience
-
Degree in PR/journalism/marketing and/or have at one year’s work experience within PR
-
Knowledge of PR and marketing processes and best practice.

Passion for PR Industry and its best practices.
-
Familiarity with video production.
-
Knowledge of copywriting and editing
-
Experience with social media platforms
-
Excellent communication &, presentation skills.
-
Strong organisational and time management skills.
-
Aptitude in presenting and public speaking desirable.

Attention to detail.
Framework and Boundaries
The role is an integral member of the AGS corporate affairs team. It requires the implicit use of personal drive/motivation, initiative, and innovation with guidance from External Communications Manager and Corporate Affairs Director. There is a requirement for strength in coordinating and creating content. A high level of resilience to achieve highly effective outcomes is required.
