About the Role
Associated Security with Anvil Locksmiths are seeking an experienced Locksmith/Service Engineer to join our Service Department. This role is primarily focused on safes and locksmithing, with additional involvement in access control systems. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality service and support to customers while maintaining the company’s professional standards and reputation.
This is a mobile role requiring travel across Scotland.
The successful candidate will also participate in an on-call rota approximately once per month to cover out-of-hours urgent service work.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, repair, and maintain a wide range of safes, door locks, and locking systems, including mechanical, digital, and electrical locks.
- Cut and manage all types of keys, including mortice and cylinder keys.
- Provide locksmith and mechanical repairs where required.
- Deliver excellent customer service, maintaining strong relationships and high service standards.
- Installation of steel and timber security doors.
- Maintain accurate service records and a growing library of technical service information.
- Support and assist other service engineers to ensure effective and efficient service delivery.
- Follow established procedures to ensure efficient job completion and closure.
- Maintain clear and professional communication with the call desk.
- Manage van stock control, logging on and off customer systems as required.
- Respond to urgent out-of-hours call-outs when on the on-call rota.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Extensive experience within the locksmith industry or a closely related field.
- Strong understanding of modern and traditional locking systems, including electronic and mechanical locks.
- Recognised locksmith training.
- Willingness and ability to train on new products and systems.
- Experience working as a mobile service engineer.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Ability to participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota.
- Professional attitude with the ability to work independently and under pressure.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working with safes and locks.
- Knowledge of access control systems.
- Relevant locksmith qualifications.
