The Business Development & Marketing Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping how our global BD&M function operates - ensuring it is connected, efficient and delivering against our strategic priorities.
This is a highly visible and business-critical role, acting as the operational backbone of the BD&M function. You’ll partner with senior leaders, product owners, and specialist teams to turn strategy into delivery, embed best practice, and drive continuous improvement across systems, processes, and ways of working.
What you’ll do
You’ll lead the operational running of the BD&M function, ensuring alignment, consistency, and effectiveness at a global scale. Key responsibilities include:
Operational leadership & coordination
- Translate strategic priorities into clear plans, timelines, and deliverables
- Maintain oversight of activity, risks, and dependencies across teams
- Support leadership planning cycles and decision-making
Process, governance & standards
- Design and embed consistent processes, guidance, and operational standards
- Identify inefficiencies and improve ways of working
- Maintain risk and compliance oversight, including audit readiness
Financial management
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and reporting across BD&M
- Ensure strong financial governance and best practice
- Manage central investment processes and track return on investment
Technology & systems
- Partner with product and technology teams to optimise system usage
- Ensure tools are embedded into workflows and adopted consistently
- Identify and resolve system friction points
Data & insight
- Enable accessible, meaningful reporting to support decisions
- Improve data quality and alignment across systems
- Embed reporting into day-to-day activity and planning
Transformation & change
- Support the delivery and embedding of transformation initiatives
- Bridge the gap between strategy and operational execution
- Ensure sustainable adoption of new processes and tools
Knowledge & team enablement
- Oversee knowledge management and onboarding across the function
- Support capability development, training, and best practice sharing
- Act as a central point of contact for operational queries
Leadership
- Line manage and develop a BD&M Coordinator/PA
- Ensure effective support for leadership and team operations
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for a commercially-minded operations professional with strong stakeholder management skills and a passion for continuous improvement.
You will bring:
- Significant experience in business development, marketing operations, or business operations within a professional services environment
- Strong understanding of budgeting, governance, and operational processes
- Experience working with CRM systems, marketing technology, and reporting tools
- Proven ability to work with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams
- A track record of supporting strategic initiatives and driving change
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- A proactive, collaborative, and accountable approach
- Confidence working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- A strong focus on data quality, compliance, and continuous improvement
