We are recruiting
Specialist ASC Mentors in Stirling to support autistic students studying at undergraduate and postgraduate level. You’ll meet students
one-to-one, in person, helping them overcome challenges, build independence and develop strategies that support their studies and wellbeing. This is a
flexible, term-time role with a competitive rate of
£25:00 – £27.00 per hour plus holiday pay, pension, sick pay and clinical supervision. We welcome applicants able to commit to
25+ hours per week during term time and with experience supporting both ASC and ADHD.

- An honours degree in any subject
- Eligibility under SFE’s Mandatory Criteria for Band 4 Specialist Mentor – Autism Spectrum Conditions (SM-ASC)
- At least 3 years’ experience working with autistic young people or adults
- Knowledge of practical strategies for supporting ASC and ADHD
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to disability equity and inclusive education
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience working with diverse and multicultural communities
- Mentor autistic students at university on a one-to-one basis
- Support students to manage the impact of autism on study and daily life
- Promote resilience, independence and wellbeing
- Help with organisation, time management and study strategies
- Encourage personal responsibility and life skills development
- Monitor wellbeing and assess risk when necessary
- Liaise with universities, GPs and other professionals where appropriate
- Maintain records and confidentiality in line with GDPR
Location: Stirling (in person)
Contract: Zero-hours, flexible
Pay: £25.00 – £27:00 per hour
Hours: Minimum 25 per week during term time
