On 1 April 2026, NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) and NHS Education for Scotland (NES) became one national organisation, focused on continuity today and a stronger, more connected service for tomorrow.

As part of this transformation, NSS and NES have joined to form a new organisation: Public Services Delivery Scotland (PSD Scotland). This new organisation will play a pivotal role in supporting the renewal and ensuring the long-term sustainability of health and care services across Scotland.

About the Organisation:

PSD Scotland unites expertise from NES and NSS in a way that will allow us to accelerate national programmes to support the NHS to deliver better care, now and in the future.

We support staff with education and training, provide the tools and data that improve services, and run vital national functions such as procurement, logistics and blood, tissue and cell services.

The Post:

PSD Scotland IT departments are flexible organisations that react quickly to changing business needs in order to provide an efficient and effective service to PSD Scotland and the wider NHS.

We currently have a vacancy for a Junior Application Support Officer. This post involves system admin support and maintenance of the Crown Flexi, Procurement and Finance systems. The main responsibilities of this post will be Crown flexi system support and administration along with supplier creation and maintenance within the procurement and finance systems for multiple health boards. The post holder will be dealing with calls through the Service Now call handling system, contacting suppliers, and updating the relevant systems where required.

The Candidate:

You should possess a good attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy when managing / designing systems with a minimal margin for errors. This needs to be balanced with quick resolution of issues or implementation of essential changes.

The post holders will also be expected to undertake a wide variety of additional work which may have conflicting priorities.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and to adjust to changing priorities is a requirement.

Learning new skills and software packages to build up knowledge of IT procedures is required.

The post holder should have experience in a system administration role and should have completed formal qualifications to HND level or equivalent knowledge from advanced formal training and experience..

Location and Working Pattern:

Gyle Square, Edinburgh or Delta House, Glasgow.

Currently hybrid working

Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week

It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK and have entitlement to work in the UK for the post in which you will be employed.
