Due to continued growth, we are looking for a motivated and reliable Pest Control Technician to join our team.
The Role
As a Pest Control Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out pest control inspections, treatments, monitoring visits and routine servicing at a wide range of domestic and commercial premises.
You will be expected to work independently, communicate professionally with customers. Providing clear reports, recommendations and advice following each visit.
Following training, the successful candidate will also join a weekend on-call rota.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Carry out detailed pest control inspections, treatments and routine service visits.
- Identify pest activity, potential risks, proofing requirements and hygiene issues.
- Service and monitor pest control equipment including bait stations, moth pots, EFK units and other monitoring points.
- Complete accurate reports detailing findings, actions taken and recommendations.
- Liaise professionally with domestic and commercial clients at all levels.
- Provide advice to customers on pest prevention, proofing, housekeeping and ongoing control measures.
- Identify additional works or service opportunities where appropriate.
- Carry out bird proofing works where required.
- Work safely at height where required, following training and risk assessments.
- Attend relevant training sessions and maintain CPD requirements.
- Respond flexibly to emergency pest control call-outs when required.
- Take responsibility for health and safety while working on customer sites.
Requirements
The successful candidate should have:
- A full valid UK driving licence.
- BPCA/RSPH Level 2 Award in Pest Management, or willingness to work towards this qualification.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- A professional, confident and positive approach to customer service.
- The ability to work independently and manage their own workload.
- Good attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions and procedures.
- A flexible approach to working hours, including emergency call-outs and weekend rota cover.
- The physical ability to work in different environments, including outdoors, roof spaces and confined areas where required.
- Willingness to work at height when required, following training.
- Eligibility to apply for an Air Weapon Certificate, where required for certain duties.
Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure Scotland check, or equivalent, due to working in environments that may involve vulnerable people.
Previous pest control experience is desirable, but not essential for the right candidate, as training can be provided.
