Full job description

REAL Property Scotland is seeking a Property Underwriter to join our growing team in Glasgow.

This is an exciting opportunity for a property professional with strong knowledge of residential property values, investment property, development projects, and market analysis to play a key role in assessing property opportunities across Scotland.

We are looking for someone who can confidently review property assets, assess risk, analyse valuations, and provide recommendations to support investment and lending decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Assess residential and mixed-use property opportunities across Scotland
Review Home Reports, valuations, RICS reports, and comparable market evidence
Analyse property values, refurbishment costs, and investment potential
Conduct due diligence on property acquisitions and development projects
Evaluate lending security for bridging finance and development finance applications
Identify and assess risks associated with property transactions
Produce concise underwriting recommendations and reports
Work closely with with our team of valuers
Monitor market trends and local property performance

About You

The ideal candidate will have experience within one or more of the following:

Property Underwriting
Residential Valuation
RICS Surveying
Estate Agency Valuation
Property Investment Analysis
Development Finance
Bridging Finance
Property Acquisition
Asset Management

Essential Skills

Strong understanding of Scottish residential property markets
Ability to interpret RICS valuation reports and Home Reports
Excellent knowledge of comparable evidence and property valuation methodology
Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness
Ability to assess property-related risk confidently
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desirable Qualifications

RICS qualified or working towards qualification
Degree in Real Estate, Property Management, Surveying, or a related discipline
Experience within a property finance, lending, valuation, surveying, or investment environment
