Cafe Cook

Location: Hyndland, Glasgow West End Rate of Pay: £12.71 per hour + generous cash & card gratuities Position: Full-Time / Part-Time (Daytime hours, no late nights!)

About Us

We are a brand-new, independent cafe tucked away in the heart of Hyndland. While we are keeping our name under wraps for just a little longer, we can tell you this: we are passionate about incredible coffee, a welcoming atmosphere, and fresh, beautifully executed daytime food.

As we open our doors to the West End community, we are looking for a talented and reliable Cafe Cook to take ownership of our kitchen and help us build a reputation for excellent food.

The Role

This isn’t about fine dining; it’s about doing the classics exceptionally well. You will be responsible for prepping and cooking our daytime menu, which focuses on high-quality breakfast, brunch, and lunch dishes.

What you’ll be doing:

Preparing and cooking menu items to a high, consistent standard.
Managing kitchen prep, stock rotation, and ordering.
Ensuring strict food hygiene, safety, and cleaning standards are maintained at all times.
Working efficiently to keep ticket times down during busy weekend rushes.
Contributing creative ideas for daily or weekly specials.

What We Are Looking For

Experience: Previous experience working as a cook or chef in a fast-paced cafe or restaurant environment.
Skill: Strong knife skills, great attention to plate presentation, and the ability to work independently.
Attitude: Reliable, organized, and calm under pressure. A positive attitude is a must—we want a happy kitchen!
Credentials: Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2) is highly desirable.
