Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Part-time Dental Hygienist/Therapist to join our dental practice. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality preventative and therapeutic dental care, supporting patient education, and assisting in maintaining optimal oral health including Implant maintenance. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a professional team committed to delivering exceptional patient care and promoting oral health awareness.

Starting salary is £34 depending on experience and hours to be arranged.

Duties

Conduct thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing of patients' teeth
Take and interpret dental radiographs using CAD and medical imaging technology
Assist with diagnosis by providing detailed assessments of oral health status
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies
Support the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort
Maintain accurate patient records and update treatment plans accordingly
Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and sterilisation procedures
Keep the clinical environment organised, clean, and fully stocked with necessary supplies
Stay informed about advances in dental technology and techniques, including anatomy knowledge relevant to dental therapy

Qualifications

recognised qualification as a Dental Hygienist or Therapist from an accredited institution
Valid registration with the appropriate dental regulatory body
Experience using CAD systems for dental imaging is desirable
Proficiency in medical imaging techniques relevant to dentistry
Strong knowledge of human anatomy, particularly oral and maxillofacial structures
Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively
Organised, detail-oriented, and able to work efficiently within a team environment
