The Opportunity

Grove Bedding is a long-established, highly respected Scottish bed and mattress retailer known across the region for premium products, great prices, and exceptional customer service. Due to continuous growth, we are looking for a dedicated Local Delivery Driver to join our friendly, hard-working team.
Unlike long-haul trunking or isolated courier work, you will always work as part of a two-person crew alongside a dedicated driver’s mate. Together, you will deliver excellent service directly to our customers' homes across Edinburgh, the Lothians, and the Borders.
The Role
This is an active, customer-facing role where you will act as a premium ambassador for Grove Bedding on the road and inside our clients' properties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regional Distribution: Safely navigate routes across Edinburgh, the Lothians, and the Borders, ensuring timely home arrivals.
- Two-Person Lift Operations: Collaborate closely with your driver’s mate to safely load, unload, and maneuver heavy beds and mattresses into customers' homes, protecting property interiors.
- White-Glove Assembly: Carefully and professionally assemble beds, divans, and headboards in the customer's room of choice according to manufacturer standards.
- Customer Care: Deliver a polite, friendly, and first-class customer experience from the moment you knock on the door to final sign-off.
- Vehicle Fleet Upkeep: Maintain high standards of cleanliness, conduct routine daily vehicle safety walks, and return to base to prepare inventory for the following day.
Requirements
- Licence & History: Full UK Driving Licence held continuously for a minimum of 3 years.
- Insurance Criteria: Must be aged 25 or over due to strict commercial vehicle fleet insurance requirements.
- Physical Fitness: Beds and mattresses are heavy, bulky, and awkward to handle. You must be physically fit and entirely comfortable with heavy lifting and staircase maneuvers.
- Attributes: Reliable, punctual, exceptionally well-organized, with a smart appearance and a positive, strong work ethic.
- Location: Based within a reliable daily commuting distance of our regional distribution base.
