Part-time: 3.5 days per week
Includes every other Saturday, 9:00am–3:00pm
Salary: £25,500–£28,000 pro rata, depending on experience
Are you organised, friendly and brilliant with people?
Glossop Physio is a growing local physiotherapy clinic with a strong reputation for excellent patient care. We are looking for a warm, proactive and highly organised person to join our front desk team and help us deliver an exceptional experience for every patient who contacts or visits the clinic.
This is one of the most important roles in our business. You will often be the first person a new patient speaks to, and the first face they see when they arrive. Your role will be to make people feel welcomed, listened to, reassured and confident that they are in the right place.
This role would suit someone who enjoys talking to people, takes pride in great customer service, and is confident managing conversations both on the phone and in person.
About Glossop Physio
At Glossop Physio, we are building a clinic that patients look forward to visiting and a workplace where staff enjoy coming to work, learning, growing and contributing.
We have experienced rapid growth over the last few years and are continuing to build a friendly, supportive and values-driven team. You can find out more about us at glossopphysio.co.uk.
Working Hours
The role is for 3.5 days per week, usually 9:00am–5:00pm.
We can offer some flexibility around which three weekdays the successful candidate works. This will be discussed at interview. Once agreed, these will become the same regular working days each week.
For example, the role may be Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, plus every other Saturday from 9:00am–3:00pm.
(This is not a remote role).
The Role
You will be responsible for managing the front desk and waiting room experience, meeting and greeting patients, answering the phone, booking appointments, supporting patient communication and helping new enquiries become happy patients.
You will play a key part in making sure every patient feels welcomed, remembered and looked after from their first phone call through to their ongoing care.
Key Responsibilities
Your role will include:
- Meeting and greeting patients warmly when they arrive
- Answering phone calls and responding to enquiries
- Booking patients accurately into the clinic diary
- Having meaningful conversations with prospective patients, sometimes lasting 15–20 minutes or more
- Explaining the value of our services clearly and confidently
- Helping new patients feel reassured and excited about their first appointment
- Handling questions and concerns in a helpful and professional way
- Creating a welcoming waiting room experience
- Communicating with patients before, during and after appointments
- Organising and supporting clinic schedules
- Building strong relationships with patients
- Supporting social media planning and scheduling
- Helping improve front desk systems and procedures
- Once settled in, contributing to a procedures library so key parts of the role are clearly documented
About You
You may be the person we are looking for if you:
- Are friendly, positive and confident speaking to people
- Are comfortable talking to strangers on the phone and in person
- Are highly organised and able to manage several tasks at once
- Can prioritise your day and meet deadlines
- Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing
- Notice the small details that make a big difference
- Are flexible, open to change and committed to learning
- Are confident enough to speak up when something could work better
- Can anticipate what patients or team members may need
- Take pride in giving people an excellent experience
Experience in a customer-facing role would be highly valuable, especially if you have previously dealt with customers, answered questions, managed bookings, or helped turn enquiries into happy clients.
