The Role
We’re looking for a motivated Bookkeeper & Payroll Assistant to join our small team. We are happy to consider both full-time and part-time applicants and are very flexible on working hours – we’re happy to discuss what works best for you.
You’ll play a key role in supporting our clients with accurate bookkeeping and efficient payroll services. As part of our small team, you’ll also get involved in other areas such as onboarding new clients and helping wherever needed to support the practice.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Handling monthly bookkeeping and VAT returns for clients using Xero
- Managing payroll processing, including data entry, calculations, payslips and submissions
- Supporting clients with day-to-day financial admin and queries
- Maintaining accurate records and reconciling accounts
- Assisting with year-end processes for both bookkeeping and payroll
- Helping with onboarding new clients and other varied tasks across the practice
- Keeping up to date with relevant legislation and best practices
- Working closely with the team to deliver excellent client service
What We’re Looking For
- Practical, hands-on experience in bookkeeping and payroll (ideally 1–2+ years)
- Strong working knowledge of Xero software
- AAT qualification (or similar) is preferred but not essential — practical experience matters most
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to manage confidential information
- Strong communication skills and a positive, team-player attitude
