Hub Manager – Top Of The Town Community Hub (TOTCH)

Pay: £15/hour

Hours: 14 hours/week – Tuesdays 10am–5pm, regular Saturdays and some events, with flexibility to meet the needs of the role

Accountability: To the chair of the committee

Job Purpose

Manage the day-to-day running of the TOTCH hub
Help develop activities, events and fundraising
Build and support a skilled, happy volunteer team

We're an active community-led hub in Stroud that has been in operation for four years, run by a committed group of volunteers. We're looking for someone with the resilience, operational experience, and skills to help us expand and move to the next exciting stage as a charity.

The Role

Based at the Community Hub and working from home, you'll support the volunteers to deliver activities and events that reduce inequality, promote inclusion, and bring the community together.

To manage & oversee the daily operational delivery of TOTCH hub to meet the needs of the local community
To contribute to the development of the TOTCH priorities, expansion of activities and fundraising requirements.
To build a strong and happy team of volunteers with the relevant skills and experience and opportunities to grow their strengths

Duties & Key Performance Areas:

Day-to-Day Operations

Keep the hub running smoothly in line with food hygiene, health & safety, fire safety and TOTCH policies
Ensure public spaces are clean, tidy and safe; carry out opening and closing checks
Report any building faults or maintenance issues

Café & Stock

Support the café/kitchen manager and food pantry team with systems for stock management, food distribution and food waste management

Client Support

Be the main point of contact for clients via email, phone and WhatsApp
Make sure clients get the right support, advice and referrals

Volunteers

Recruit, induct and train volunteers, keeping them feeling valued and supported
Manage the volunteer rota and keep training records up to date

Finance

Day to day handling of cash donations & card donations,
updating of records.
Liaison with the Treasurer to manage delivery of activities within the overall budget

Partnerships & Relationships

Maintain and develop relationships with suppliers and partners such as NoSH, FareShare, Tesco and Greggs and local Councils
Attend and contribute to committee and NoSH meetings, providing reports as needed

Monitoring & Reporting

Collect and compile relevant light touch data, surveys and reports
Track progress against funding and help identify gaps in provision and funding opportunities

Policies & Safeguarding

Help keep policies, procedures and risk assessments up to date
Work in line with safeguarding principles, maintaining confidentiality at all times
Uphold the Equality Act 2010 and Health & Safety at Work Act in everything you do

Professional Conduct and Development

Take part in ongoing training relevant to the role and promote community-led support principles throughout your work
To carry out duties in line with Safeguarding Principles, maintaining confidentiality & discretion at all times

This role will require occasional local travel for meetings & networking events

Working Patterns:

This role will require work during evenings and occasional weekends as needed to support the activities of the community hub

Working Conditions:

This role requires a flexible mixture of hub-based and home-based working as needed to support the smooth running of the community hub

Mandatory Requirement:

Enhanced DBS Check

Pay: Up to £15.00 per hour

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Stroud
