About the Role

We are looking for a reliable and motivated Desk-Based Telecoms Support & Installation Engineer to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone with good communication skills, a technical mindset, and a willingness to learn. Full training will be provided.

You will support telecoms installations remotely, prepare equipment for deployment, and provide telephone and remote support to customers and engineers.

Key Responsibilities

Preparing and configuring telecoms equipment prior to installation
Setting up routers, handsets, hosted phone systems, and related hardware
Providing telephone and remote technical support to customers
Assisting engineers and customers with installation queries
Troubleshooting connectivity and telecoms issues
Updating customer records and job notes accurately
Testing equipment before dispatch
Liaising with suppliers, engineers, and internal teams
Supporting ongoing customer maintenance requests

Requirements

Good communication and customer service skills
Basic IT knowledge and confidence using computers
Strong problem-solving ability
Organised and able to manage multiple tasks
Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable Skills (Not Essential)

Experience in telecoms, broadband, networking, or IT support
Familiarity with VoIP or hosted telephone systems
Experience with routers or network equipment
