At UK Architectural Heritage, we are looking for a Yard Assistant to join our small and close-knit team within a growing antiques business.
Previous applicants need not apply.
In this varied role, the successful applicant will assist the Warehouse Supervisor with organising our busy warehouse and salvage yard. This includes arranging storage/display of stock, setting up antiques for photography sessions, packing and crating of orders for deliveries, occasional van driving for deliveries and collections, as well as a range of daily and weekly tasks.
The ideal candidate must be hardworking and willing to work both independently and together alongside the team. Some of our items can be heavy so the applicant must be able to confidently handle large and substantial items safely. A current counterbalance forklift license is desirable but not essential, with full training provided for the right candidate.
We conduct light restoration and repair of many of our antiques onsite. A candidate with a background in joinery, woodworking, stonemasonry or restoration would be advantageous but not essential, enabling the candidate to assist our workshop team with restoration of our items before photography sessions.
On occasion, customers will visit the yard by appointment so the successful applicant must be friendly and approachable, meeting and greeting customers when required and assisting the office team with accessing stock for customer visits.
If you are interested in joining our team and have an interest in antiques, we would like to hear from you!
