Full job description

Job Overview
We are looking for energetic and motivated individuals to join and support our maintenance teams in maintaining amazing gardens within our catchment area.

This is a great opportunity to learn and grow, with staff development being at the heart of our ethos. At this level, experience is a big bonus but not necessary as all training can be provided.

You would be working alongside a qualified horticulturalist, while being mentored by the head of horticulture to help you reach your full potential.

Should you want to, we also aim to enable our operatives to take additional training both in short courses and possibly support in becoming qualified horticulturalists.

You should be motivated, energetic and willing to learn. Your new job can be physically demanding at times, so good physical fitness is a must.

Your new role will also involve assisting the hard landscape teams so you will have the opportunity to develop a wide skill set.

Responsibilities

Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of gardens and landscaped areas, ensuring they remain healthy and visually appealing.
Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for various maintenance tasks.
Carry out groundskeeping activities such as mowing, trimming, weeding, and planting as required, under the direction of a horticulturalist.
Support the team in planting and maintaining existing plants to promote growth.
Monitor the condition of outdoor areas and report any issues or necessary repairs to you supervisor.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of tools and equipment used in maintenance tasks.

Experience

Previous experience in landscape maintenance or gardening is preferred but not essential; a willingness to learn is key.
Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in maintenance work is advantageous.
Basic knowledge of planst and their care would be advantageous
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating good communication skills.
A strong work ethic with attention to detail is essential for maintaining high standards in all tasks.
Physical fitness is essential
