Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Support Worker to provide compassionate assistance and guidance to individuals in need. This role involves working closely with children and vulnerable adults, fostering their development and well-being through mentoring and supportive activities. The successful candidate will play a vital part in creating a positive environment that encourages growth, independence, and confidence. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference within the community while developing valuable skills in caregiving, mentoring, and teaching.

Duties

Offer personalised support to children and adults, promoting their social, emotional, and educational development
Engage in mentoring activities that encourage confidence and independence
Assist with daily routines, including organising activities, outings, and educational sessions
Support individuals with their personal care needs while respecting their dignity and preferences
Collaborate with families, carers, and professional teams to ensure consistent care plans are followed
Facilitate learning through teaching basic skills or specialised programmes tailored to individual needs
Maintain accurate records of support provided and progress made
Promote a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment at all times

Experience

Previous experience working with children or vulnerable adults is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
Mentoring or teaching experience is advantageous, demonstrating the ability to motivate and guide others effectively
Compassionate approach with excellent communication skills
Ability to work flexibly as part of a team or independently depending on the needs of the individuals supported
A genuine interest in supporting personal development and fostering positive relationships within the community

Essential Criteria

Must be a driver with a license
Must be willing to travel

Pay: £13.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
