Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Counsellor to join our team. The successful candidate will provide professional support and guidance to individuals facing personal, emotional, or psychological challenges. This role involves developing tailored care plans, facilitating effective communication, and fostering a safe environment for clients to explore their concerns. The Counsellor will play a vital part in promoting mental well-being and resilience within our community. This is a paid position suitable for experienced professionals or those undertaking relevant internships.

Responsibilities

Conduct confidential counselling sessions with clients, ensuring a supportive and empathetic environment.
Develop personalised care plans based on individual needs and circumstances.
Utilise effective communication skills to build trust and rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
Maintain accurate and detailed records of all counselling sessions in compliance with organisational policies.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and support services.
Provide guidance on coping strategies and behavioural techniques to help clients manage their issues.
Stay informed of best practices and current developments within mental health and counselling fields.
Promote awareness of available services through outreach activities and community engagement.

Qualifications

recognised qualification in counselling, psychology, social work, or related field.
Proven experience in providing counselling or psychological support is preferred but not essential for internship roles.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to listen actively and convey information clearly.
Strong organisational skills to manage multiple cases effectively and maintain detailed records.
Ability to demonstrate leadership qualities when working within multidisciplinary teams or leading group sessions.
Knowledge of IT systems used for record keeping and case management is desirable.
Experience in developing care plans tailored to individual client needs is advantageous.
