Head of Sales Effectivness (FTC)

As we deliver our ambitious 2030 growth strategy, we are looking for a Head of Sales Effectiveness to lead our efforts to upskill and develop our regional and global commercial teams to deliver a value driven and industry leading commercial culture which drives consistency, capability and performance across Croda’s core businesses.
This role is initially on a c. 18-month fixed term contract basis to drive behavioural change in a complex B2B environment
Who we're looking for:
- Senior level experience in driving Sales Effectiveness, Commercial Excellence or Sales Transformation within a B2B organisations (ideally Life Sciences or Consumer Care markets)
- Proven track record designing and implementing commercial operating models and organisation structures that unlock revenue and margin growth
- Strong executive partnering and change leadership credentials, including transformation and M&A environments.
- Proven track record of leading and embedding cultural and organisational change within a commercial function
- High level of diplomacy, authenticity and empathy to build strong, trusted relationships across the business.
Commercially minded, data driven and outcomes focused, with the ability to operate at both strategic and hands on levels.

Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary global point of contact for the commercial excellence workstream, ensuring alignment, visibility and integration of sales effectiveness initiatives across regions.
- Lead the design, deployment and continuous evolution of global sales capability and sales deployment frameworks, ensuring consistency while allowing for regional nuance.
- Operate as a centre of excellence for commercial excellence, establishing governance, standards, tools and best practices to support regional execution.
- Partner with regional commercial leaders to design and deliver sales effectiveness and commercial excellence programmes, including capability building, deployment models and performance rhythms.
- Identify, capture and prioritise continuous improvement opportunities across the commercial function, ensuring successful scaling and adoption of best practice across geographies.
- Provide oversight, governance and performance tracking of commercial excellence initiatives, ensuring clear metrics, accountability and alignment to transformation objectives.
- Act as a point of escalation and mediation across regions, resolving conflicts, balancing global standards with local needs, and ensuring momentum in delivery in regard to sales effectiveness and sales deployment
- Support the delivery of the broader commercial excellence transformation programme, contributing to programme management, risk mitigation, dependency management and value realisation.
- Lead regular updates to the Commercial Excellence Workstream Lead and senior stakeholders on progress, risks, opportunities, metrics and overall programme health.
- Drive alignment across Sales, Marketing, HR, IT and Finance to ensure integrated delivery of commercial excellence initiatives and effective embedding into business operations.
- Champion capability development across the commercial organisation, working with HR to define and embed critical skill requirements and learning interventions.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement, data‑driven decision making and customer focus across the commercial function.
Additional Information
This role can be hybrid or home office based, ideally within the UK with regular international travel required.
