Full job description

We are seeking an experienced CNC Plasma Cutting & Nesting Operator to join our growing steel fabrication team. The successful candidate will be responsible for nesting, setting, and operating CNC plasma cutting machinery to produce high-quality components in line with production requirements.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and busy fabrication company, working on a wide range of structural and bespoke steel projects.

Key Responsibilities

Nest CNC plasma cutting machines from technical drawings and customer specifications.
Set up and operate CNC plasma cutting equipment.
Read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings.
Ensure materials are processed accurately and efficiently.
Carry out routine machine checks and basic maintenance.
Monitor quality throughout the production process.
Work closely with the fabrication and workshop teams to meet deadlines.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment.

Requirements

Previous experience operating CNC plasma cutting machinery.
Ability to nest CNC plasma systems independently.
Strong understanding of engineering drawings and steel fabrication processes.
Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Experience within a steel fabrication or structural steel environment.
Knowledge of nesting software.
Forklift experience.

What We Offer

Competitive Salary
30 Days holiday including bank holidays
Additional days holiday allowance for every 2 years service up to 8 years.
Overtime available (At rate of 1.5x)
39 hours per week ( Monday - Thursday 07.30 - 16.30pm - Friday 07.30 - 13.00pm )

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £16.00-£18.00 per hour
