Full job description

Ipswich Road Pharmacy is looking for an enthusiastic pharmacist to join our community pharmacy in Norwich. Applications are welcomed from newly qualified pharmacists as well as pharmacists with community pharmacy experience who are looking for a long-term role with opportunities to develop NHS and private clinical services.

About the role

You will work as the Responsible Pharmacist and help provide a safe, efficient and patient-focused pharmacy service. The role has a strong focus on NHS and private clinical services alongside the safe supply of medicines.

You will be supported by an experienced pharmacy and dispensing team, with structured induction and ongoing professional support.

Key responsibilities

Carry out professional and clinical checking of prescriptions.
Ensure the safe and effective supply of medicines.
Provide clear advice and counselling to patients.
Deliver NHS services including Pharmacy First, NMS and other commissioned services.
Support and develop vaccination and private healthcare services.
Maintain high professional, legal and patient-safety standards.
Work closely with the pharmacy team and support staff development.
Follow procedures, GPhC standards and pharmacy SOPs.
Build positive relationships with patients, GP practices and other healthcare professionals.
Help develop the pharmacy through excellent patient care and service delivery.

What we are looking for

GPhC-registered pharmacist; or
Passed the 2026 GPhC registration assessment and eligible to register before commencing employment.
Applications from newly qualified pharmacists are particularly welcomed.
Good communication and patient-care skills.
Professional, reliable and supportive approach.
Willingness to develop NHS and private clinical-service skills.
Ability to work effectively with the wider pharmacy team.
Confidence in taking responsibility for the safe operation of the pharmacy.
