We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and highly organised Dental Nurse to join us at an exciting stage in the development of Grout. Dental & Medical Spa, a brand-new private dental practice opening alongside our established aesthetics clinic in Jarrow.
This is a little different from a traditional dental nursing vacancy.
We are looking for someone who would love the opportunity to join us before the dental practice opens, working closely with the practice owner to help organise and establish the clinical side of the business.
As the practice opens and develops, the position will progress into a more traditional dental nursing role with additional hours available. For the right person, there will also be the opportunity to develop into a senior/lead dental nurse or practice management role as the business grows.
Initially, the role will include:
● Helping set up and organise our new dental surgery and decontamination room
● Establishing efficient clinical and decontamination workflows
● Organising instruments, materials and stock
● Helping establish stock-control and ordering systems
● Supporting infection prevention and control procedures
● Setting up clinical logs, checklists and equipment records
● Assisting with COSHH documentation and safety data sheets
● Supporting preparation for CQC registration and inspection
● Helping establish compliance and quality-assurance systems
● General organisation and preparation of the new clinical environment
Once we open
The role will naturally develop into chairside dental nursing alongside some of the organisational responsibilities established during the set-up period.
We anticipate additional hours becoming available as the practice grows.
For someone interested in career progression, we would also be very happy to support the right candidate in developing towards greater responsibility within the practice, including a potential Lead Dental Nurse / Practice Management position.
Who we’re looking for
We would particularly like to hear from someone who is:
● Qualified and GDC registered
● Experienced within general dentistry
● Confident with decontamination and infection-control procedures
● Exceptionally organised and proactive
● Able to work independently and use their initiative
● Friendly, professional and patient-focused
● Excited by the opportunity to help shape a completely new private practice
Experience with CQC, compliance, audits, stock management, lead nursing or practice management responsibilities would be particularly valuable, although this isn’t essential. Knowledge of social media and reel making desirable Or wellness to learn and appear on socials.
Hours
This is initially a flexible part-time position while the practice is being established.
Days and hours may vary depending on what is required during the set-up period and could include a mixture of full and half days. Hours will be agreed in advance with the successful candidate.
We are therefore looking for somebody who has a degree of flexibility and is excited about becoming involved at an early stage of the business.

Salary: £15–£17 per hour, depending on experience
